Individual Therapy
EMDR
Our team provides EMDR for children aged 5 and over. In some cases, we might use therapeutic storytelling, play therapy, and/or sand tray therapy alongside EMDR. Additionally, adolescents and adults can access EMDR alongside other therapeutic techniques.
Children
Our practice provides dyadic therapy for children aged 5 years and over. In addition, individual therapy is available for children depending on their maturity and the specific referral reason.
Confidentiality: While general themes are discussed in parent sessions, the specific content of sessions remains private. However, disclosures may occur if the clinician believes there is significant clinical value to the child. As mandatory reporters, our team must report any knowledge of a child being harmed to child protection as required by law.
Adolescents
Our practice provides individual therapy to adolescents aged 12 and over. Please note that parental or custodial consent needs to be provided prior to the commencement of therapy.
Confidentiality: Content is kept confidential out of respect for our adolescent clients. Specifically, disclosures are only made with the client’s permission or in cases of risk to themselves or others. This includes, but is not limited to, self-harm, suicidality, or substance misuse. Furthermore, because we are mandatory reporters, any knowledge of an adolescent being harmed must be reported to child protection.
We are mandatory reporters. Therefore, if we receive knowledge of an adolescent being harmed or hurt (past or present), by law we have to report to child protection.
Adults
Individual counseling is provided to adults aged 18 and over. Regarding payment, we accept insurance, EAP, VOCAT, and private pay, with Medicare options arriving in 2026. Please note that all discussions are confidential, and your clinician will explain these limits during your first session.
Couples Therapy: We are staunch allies of the LGBTQI+ community and offer specialized therapy to its members, including polyamorous couples. Similarly, we offer culturally sensitive support for religious couples. For instance, we understand Jewish/halachic laws of marriage and can coordinate with your rabbi or mashpiah upon request.
Child protection
At the instruction of child protection, we conduct assessments of a child’s wellbeing. This process involves gathering information from caregivers and teachers, as well as meeting with the young person directly. Consequently, a report is provided to the agency, with copies shared with parents when appropriate.
VOCAT / FAS: Assessments for VOCAT/FAS applications are available upon request. To complete this process, a minimum of five sessions are required before a report is provided to the requesting agency.
Family Therapy
Dyadic therapy
Specifically, we offer dyadic therapy between a parent/caregiver and their child. Furthermore, dyadic therapy can be useful to improve attachment, resolve conflict, and address behavioral difficulties.
Family
We believe there is no such thing as a standard family composition. Consequently, we will work with anyone you consider to be family.
Couples Therapy
LGBTQI+
As staunch allies of the LGBTQI+ community, we offer inclusive therapy to all members. Moreover, we are happy to work with polyamorous couples.
Religious couples
We understand the Jewish/halachic laws of marriage and are prepared to work within this framework. For instance, we can collaborate with your rabbi or mashpiah if you wish. To ensure comfort, separate seating is available to adhere to taharat hamishpacha.
Assessments
Child protection
At the instruction of child protection, we conduct assessments of a child’s wellbeing and needs. This process includes gathering information from caregivers, teachers, and previous reports. Subsequently, a report will be provided to child protection, with copies provided to parents if considered appropriate.
Victims of Crime (VOCAT) / Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)
We provide assessments for the purposes of a VOCAT/FAS application. To complete this, a minimum of 5 (five) sessions are required before a report is provided to the requesting agency.
Education
Assessments can be completed for educational purposes around behavioral concerns. However, please note that no psychological assessments for the purpose of learning difficulties or diagnoses can be provided.
Sand tray therapy is a powerful, non-verbal therapeutic approach that uses miniature figures and a tray of sand to help individuals express thoughts, feelings, and experiences that might be difficult to put into words. It is often used with children, but it can also be highly effective for adolescents and adults—especially for those healing from trauma, dealing with grief, or working through complex emotions.

How Do I Know if Therapy is Right for Me?
Deciding whether to start therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re unsure what to expect. The truth is, you don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to therapy simply because they want to better understand themselves, improve relationships, or navigate life with more clarity and confidence.
You might benefit from therapy if:
-
You feel stuck in certain thoughts, feelings, or behaviours that don’t serve you.
-
You’re overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, sadness, or anger.
-
Your relationships are strained, repetitive, or hard to manage.
-
You’re going through a major change—a breakup, job loss, move, or loss of a loved one.
-
You’ve experienced trauma (recent or past) that still affects you.
-
You struggle with self-esteem or identity and want to build confidence.
-
You want tools to cope better with life’s challenges.
-
You’re curious about yourself and want personal growth or self-understanding.
Common Misconceptions
-
“My problems aren’t serious enough.”
Therapy isn’t just for crisis—it’s for prevention, support, and growth too. -
“Talking won’t change anything.”
Therapy isn’t just talking—it’s structured, goal-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based strategies. -
“I should be able to handle this on my own.”
Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. Therapy offers tools and insight that aren’t always accessible when we’re in our own heads.
What Therapy Can Offer

-
Coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other challenges

Final Thought
If you’ve ever thought, “Maybe I should talk to someone…”, that’s often reason enough to explore therapy. You don’t have to be certain. You just have to be open.
Trying a session doesn’t commit you long-term. Sometimes, the best way to find out if therapy is right for you is simply to give it a try.
